Called “Who’s Viewed Your Updates” and “You Recently Visited,” the features “are intended to provide you with more personalized insights on your activities and engagement across LinkedIn,” company product lead Caroline Gaffney says in a blog post. She adds that both are displayed on the right-hand side of a user’s homepage.
“Who’s Viewed Your Updates” is a snapshot of what a user has shared over the past two weeks. It also indicates who has seen the content, and how many likes and reshares it received. The overview includes first-degree connections, as well as those in second- and third- degree networks.
“Now you have real-time feedback on how the content you read and share resonates within your network, giving you more opportunities to build your professional brand and make connections with new professionals that share common interests,” Gaffney says.
“You Recently Visited” indicates recent profiles that a user has viewed, searches he or she conducted and discussions that he or she viewed or participated in. Gaffney says this feature makes it easier for users to follow-up and reconnect with people on the professional social network.
In recent months, LinkedIn has rolled out several updates to its homepage, including streamlined navigation, as well as the ability to add rich media (e.g. photos, videos, documents) and directly mention first-degree connections in updates.
